Rob Bertsche and Joe Sano participates in MCLE Media Law seminar

October 1, 2007

The seminar is entitled "Libel and Related Claims in the Media, on the Web, and in the Workplace."

The program is designed for theorists and practitioners alike.  Experienced media lawyers will discuss not only the basics, but will also highlight the trends in the law and share their strategies for protecting their clients.   A leading plaintiffs’ defamation lawyer will share what he looks for when evaluating whether a case is worth bringing.  A prominent Constitutional Law professor will discuss whether the courts have been reducing protections for speech about public officials – and whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing.  An expert in media insurance law will offer a primer on how to ensure that your business gets all the coverage it needs.

This program is for lawyers advising any business that communicates publicly on the Internet or any communications outlet operating in the print, broadcast, cable, or cyberspace realms; lawyers representing plaintiffs seeking to challenge the publishing or newsgathering practices of others; and lawyers, clients, journalists and bloggers seeking an introduction to these issues.
